solo1's Top YouTubes1. Fainting Goats: A television "human interest" piece about a particular breed of goat (© Aine O'Doherty). 2. Belgian Interview: A real interview from a Belgian talk show concerned the various problems sex-change people have. Subsequent investigations can confirm that this is real. No, really. (Actually it's from a comedy show, but it's still very funny.) 3. Ben Folds song: In the long long ago, in the before time, Dr. Dre recorded a song with DOC and Snoop Dogg called Bitches Ain't Shit. It was extremely sexist, as many rap songs are, to the point of being hilarious. In fact, the only thing that could make it funnier would be if a skinny white nerd turned into, if you didn't understand the words, what could easily be mistaken for a sensitive love song. Someone's even recorded an a capella version. 4. Weird Al Yankovic: This was one of many Weird Al tracks I could have picked. This one is especially sweet, because as well as being an effective parody of Bob Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues, it's possibly the only song in the universe every line of which is a palindrome. 5. The Question Song: This is a song by a stand-up comedian called Tom Wilson. Tom played the part of Biff, the school bully, in the Back to the Future movies. Hence, comedy. 6. Lotion in the Basket: Some time ago, a movie was made called The Silence of the Lambs about a serial killer and some quiet sheep. Much is made, in this movie, of the odd habits of this serial killer, who insists that his victims put lotion on their skin. The whole thing is creepy. A band called the Greenskeepers wrote a song about it. It's catchy and creepy. 7. Sparkling Wiggles: I wrestled with my conscience on this one, because it makes a controversial point about political correctness and the blah blah blah this is so funny you might wet yourself. (I honestly don't expect this to stay up - I've had to re-anchor the link three times already. Just hunt down "Sparkling Wiggles" on YouTube. Dude, you'll thank me.) Update: This link isn't YouTube, but it seems to be staying up. 8. Ode to Zach Braff: This guy wrote a nice little song about how great Zach Braff is, but he's NOT GAY OK? 9. Physics Guy Rap: Sometimes you see something that's so irredeemably sad and pathetic that it travels all the way around the world and becomes cool. This is one of those things. The guy involved obviously doesn't realise the precise nature of its appeal, because he's talking about making a "better quality" version.
